Saturday June 19 - 2nd annual Nanaimo Bellydance Bazaar !!!
Returning by popular demand, Vancouver Island's bellydancers are creating another full day of free performances and workshops in a cross-cultural fundraiser for Haven Society. Colour, music and dance will transform St. Paul's Church Hall into a Middle Eastern-style bazaar.
Admire and purchase jewelry, clothing, costumes and accessories from the Middle East, Africa and Asia along with designed-in-B.C. items like hand-made drums. There will be henna painting; tarot, palm readers, and pendulum charts; and Middle Eastern snacks by Aladdin's Cafe. The joy and diversity of Middle Eastern dance forms will be shared by outstanding local dancers, including those who have earned regional and national recognition.
For just $5 admission (proceeds to Haven Society), visitors of all ages are welcome to watch or learn dance from performers based in towns from Duncan to Campbell River (kids under 12 are free).
For more information email Genya or phone 250-739-0589.
